Manager Thomas Tuchel has responded to the “sticking” from supporters, while explaining why he believes there is a “club atmosphere” in the England side.
On Tuesday night, England beat Latvia 5-0 in their latest qualifier to book their place in next summer’s World Cup.
Tuchel’s side maintained their perfect record in Riga’s qualifying group, with a brace from Harry Kane and smart finishing from Anthony Gordon and Eberechi Eze contributing to their big win.
The Three Lions looked to be on the right track under Tuchel, with impressive performances from Anthony Gordon and Elliott Anderson contributing to the national team atmosphere.
After Tuesday’s game, Tuchel explained why he thought there was a “club atmosphere” in the team, which had received “great support” from the visiting fans.
Tuchel said on ITV: “It’s great. There was a really good atmosphere in the dressing room. It’s a very different feeling because it was our dream to go to America. And now we’ve achieved it again with a good performance and a great result. I’m very happy.”

“We have the upper hand in the game and we are hungry. We often win the ball in the opponent’s half, which is good. We are progressing well.”
“This is the atmosphere of the club because we play very aggressively with a high press. It’s a very physical game. Everyone has to buy into this idea, because otherwise you wouldn’t be able to press so high.”
“The players are training at a high level, it’s a very good group and it’s an honor to coach them. We’re getting there step by step.”
As for the England fans, he added: “They took a few shots in the first half, but they were fair enough, they did a good job, they had a good sense of humour, so it wasn’t a problem. They were a great support from start to finish.”
Tuchel also revealed why he thinks Kane is one of the best strikers he has ever worked with. “He’s at the top of the list. He’s in the best shape mentally and physically and he’s full of confidence,” he said.

“I think the last three performances have definitely been my best for England. I feel I can still do more. There’s a lot of work to do if I want to be a top elite, world-class winger.”
