Chelsea co-owner Todd Boley criticized a British newspaper for labeling him a “stupid”, suggesting it was the fault of critics who “don’t know what they’re talking about”.
Boley has been a very public face of Chelsea ownership since Bruko bought the club, and his high turnover of players has attracted much criticism.
As his most public figure, Boley has responded to many of the criticisms, which he seemed to suggest were a backwater of ducks.
“Sometimes my wife and family take things differently than I do,” he told the Australian Financial Review. “There’s one more person who doesn’t know what I’m talking about.
“When I look at the British newspapers, I am reminded every day of how smart they are and how stupid I am.”
The 52-year-old American instead suggested that Chelsea are on the right path and that the team will evolve and grow.
“I’m going to continue to watch our team evolve and grow. We’ve been growing them together for a long time, and I’m excited to see what the future holds.”

Despite Boley’s assessment that the media is the only one who doesn’t know what he’s talking about, many people involved in the game have also raised suspicions.
One such person is former player Joe Cole, who believed the current Chelsea model had its limits.
“It’s clear that the club is working within a business framework,” he told F365 exclusively. “Everyone who has worked in Brighton seems to be joining us.
“They want to implement that model, and they’re trying to apply it. But my problem with that model, the data-driven model, is right at the top, and I think the margins are where you don’t see them, where you don’t see them in the data.”
“I think it’s in the magic and romance and what the manager says about how he treats his players. “It’s not just this left-back that’s the best left-back we can get, because he attacks so much in this area, you know?
“I think data has a big role to play, but at the very top, I think it’s always the human element that makes the difference.”
Chelsea’s best Premier League result under BlueCo was the fourth the team won last year, winning two trophies: the Club World Cup and the Conference League.
Bruko bought Chelsea for £4.25bn in 2022 after Roman Abramovich was forced to sell by the British government following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
