Liverpool is set to short on their bid to sign Alexander Isaac as the highest price willing to pay Newcastle for the striker.
Prior to Liverpool’s first bid for the striker, former club Real Sociedad is “training alone” at former club Real Sociedad.
However, the “angry” Newcastle owner hopes he will train with his teammates next week, and Sky Sports’ Keith Downey believes he will meet with other teams when Sweden returns from Korea.
With an update on Transfer Saga, Downey said: “Isaac is training in the Basque region and Real Sociedad is trying to get back to proper fitness so that he can play the game.
“There is so much speculation surrounding his future, and as we reported more than a week ago, he tells Newcastle he wants to explore his options after an informal approach from Liverpool over two weeks ago.
“Newcastle is away now. They finish in Korea as part of their preseason tour and have some games there. So, all the players, management, his backroom staff, physio, doctors, everyone is there.
“Isaac was left because of the fact that he had what the club described as minor injuries. It was then revealed that Isaac asked the club to explore options.
“I just painted a picture of his head being turned to because of interest from Liverpool. But Isaac has his own team of trainers and doctors, and Eddie Howe actually spoke about this on the record, saying the club is comfortable having his own people.
“That’s why I train with him. Yes, it’s out in the Basque area and not here in Newcastle. So, as far as Newcastle United fans are concerned, it turns out that optics don’t look good.
“But I’m hoping Isaac will return next week in the northeastern part of Newcastle, where they will return from South Korea. They will be back on Monday. He hopes he will come back. And I think he will discuss with Hau, a senior member of staff here, and decide what Swedish International is, as no one will come from Liverpool.

Liverpool praised ISAK’s decision for “agreeing with a brilliant deal” with “mega fees.” fsg ‘You can keep spending’
“And that’s a game that’s waiting for a second. Newcastle is trying to get a replacement if Isaac goes. Benjamin Sesco is a very enthusiastic player.”
However, in a report that Newcastle’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) claims to have “blocks” on transfers to Liverpool or other suitors, the former footballer claims that journalist Jan AageFjørtoft is short, given that he’s only £130 million, including add-ons.
He writes to X: “We understand that Liverpool is willing to pay £110 million + £10 million with a bonus that doesn’t want to sell Newcastle to players, but if they have to let go of ISAK, they want £150 million.”
fjørtoft added that in addition to the disparity in transfer fees and the lack of “replacements,” “there are no one in charge of sports in Newcastle,” “the decisions taken by the PIF are set,” and “this saga cannot last forever” are factors that will help them play against Liverpool.
