Tottenham boss Thomas Frank reportedly contacted former Brentford striker Ivan Tony “directly” about his move to the Spurs in January.
The North London side has gotten off to a good start to the season, with Frank’s side now third in the Premier League table after beating Leeds United 2-1 on Saturday.
One Mailbox fan described it as “smash and glove” from Tottenham along with Spurs supporters who claim Frank’s men are “in the wrong position at this time.”
Tottenham has found a way to win, and Frank is already considering potential ways to improve his team ahead of the January transfer market after the Spurs made eight new signatures in the summer.
One of the avenues where Frank is down is Tony, who coached at London rival Brentford, with the respected X-Account run by “five elite reporters” claiming the Tottenham boss has signed a direct deal for potential winter loan moves.
The account claims: ‘Exclusive. We’ve already broken the story that @Chelseafc wants Ivan Toney on loan in January. Also, there is a possibility of loans to @spursofficial 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐓𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲

When asked for his thoughts on his victory in Leeds, Frank told reporters at a post-game press conference:
“If you want to build a successful team, whether you play like Inter or Barcelona, I think you need mentality, personality, unity and unity.
“I think we’re building it more and more with our team. In the last 10, 15, we could say that they pushed us back. And we’ve come back a bit… But throughout the game, I think I’m actually very happy with the gift or take-up, up to 80 minutes.
“We looked very stubborn. I think we scored a goal. It’s like a deflected shot of a cross. I know they hit the post, but that looks even more dangerous than that.

“We created two goals and other very good dangerous situations and opportunities. So we’re very pleased with that. Then we need to survive a bit from Viklio and have some good saves.”
When asked if he was happy with the overall start, Frank said, “Of course I am. I think 14 points averaged 2 with 7. That’s a very good thing.
“We’re so happy that we’ve won three draws now. That’s part of it. If you want to achieve something, you have to do that. So, overall, it’s a good start, but of course you have to continue.”
