Tottenham’s summer signing has only played 13 minutes since signing, playing in a friendly behind closed doors, but he is close to returning.
The Spurs signed eight players in the summer, and it appears most of them are actually playing. Luka Vusković is sent out on loan, with Kota Takai likely to follow, but Mohamed Kudus, Xavi Simons, Kevin Danso, Matthijs Tell and Joao Parinha each also play some role.
Kudus and Palinya have played big roles, but another summer signing, Randal Kolo Muani, is still waiting for his first proper impact.
He spent last season on loan at Juventus, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists in 22 games, and was expected to become Tottenham’s top player, but he never had a chance to show off his skills in north London.
In fact, Kolo Muani played just 13 minutes off the bench in his debut, injuring his knee. He reportedly collided with Papu Matar Sarr during training and injured his leg, ending his chances of recovery.
However, there has been positive news regarding Kolo Muani’s potential return to Tottenham’s game.
He played 45 minutes in Friday’s game behind closed doors against Watford and is continuing his recovery and could be able to play in a competitive game soon.

👉 How Thomas Frank is making Tottenham Hotspur look less like Spurs…
Manager Thomas Frank has used eight different attackers in his team so far this season, with a cameo from Kolo Muani joining Richarlison, Kudus, Tell, Simmons, Wilson Odbert, Dominic Solanke and Brennan Johnson.
Richarlison, who has mainly played centrally, has scored three goals in the game, while Tell has one and Solanke has not missed the mark despite only playing 49 minutes.
Kolo Muani’s options therefore provide competition and could lead to goals for the team if he starts hitting opponents or if his presence inspires other attackers who don’t want to lose their positions.
Tottenham’s next match is on Sunday 19th October when they host Aston Villa at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Three days later, they face Monaco in the Champions League, so even if Kolo Muani does return to action immediately, it is doubtful that he will play the entirety of both games, but instead will have his injury eased to ensure it does not worsen.
