EXCLUSIVE: The “Big Broadway Dream” of internet sensation Trisha Paytas just got a bit bigger: The one-night-only event at Broadway’s St. James Theatre next month will include special guest appearances and performances from Sutton Foster, Ben Platt, Gypsy’s Joy Woods and Romeo + Juliet’s Rachel Zegler.
Producers promise a few surprise guests as well for the Monday, February 3, performance.
Producers Kobi Kassal and Benson Drive Productions announced today the complete cast, creative team, and special guest line up for Trisha Paytas’ Big Broadway Dream. As previously announced, the show will also be livestreamed on StagePilot.
In addition to Paytas, making her Broadway debut, the cast will feature an ensemble lead by Amber Ardolino and featuring Morgan Bryant, Beau Harmon, Joshua Dawson, Lena Matthews, Jimena Flores Sanchez, and Michael Santomassimo.
As previously announced, Trisha Paytas’s Big Broadway Dream will be directed by Skylar Fox and choreographed by Sarah Meahl.
Joining them will be Kelsey Fox & Simon Henriques (book), Joriah Kwame (composer), Caite Hevner (production design), Sarafina Bush (costume design), Cory Pattak (lighting design) Joshua D. Reid (sound design), Michael Aarons (music coordinator) and Patrick Sulken (music supervision, orchestrations and arrangements). Fatimah Amill will serve as Production Stage Manager.
Paytas’ Broadway debut comes nearly a year after Theatrely, a Broadway media outlet aimed at a Gen-Z audience, posted an April Fool’s article stating that social media personality Paytas would join the cast of Chicago. When Paytas shared the article on social media, the global interest, she says, “caused the site to crash.”
A singer, performer, podcaster and YouTube personality with more than twenty million followers, Paytas’ Broadway dream-come-true will support the Entertainment Community Fund, with all net proceeds benefitting the Fund’s work to help those in need in the entertainment industry who were displaced or lost their homes due to the California wildfires.
Tickets for the livestream are available at http://www.TrishaOnBroadway.com.
While Paytas’ Big Broadway Dream quickly sold out the St. James Theatre, donations of $5 to $25 to the Fund enters donators will be entered for a chance to win a front row pair of tickets. To enter without making a gift, people can send in an original piece of Trisha Paytas Broadway fan art.
Trisha Paytas’ Big Broadway Dream is produced by Kobi Kassal (Editor-in-Chief, Theatrely) and Benson Drive Productions (George Strus, CEO) in association with Carson Gleberman and Caitlin Berg. The production is fiscally sponsored by Producer Hub.
