WASHINGTON (AP) – President Donald Trump says Hamas must agree The proposed peace agreement By Sunday evening, in Gaza, the group threatened to face more attacks if they were not.
“We must reach an agreement with Hamas by Sunday evening, at 6pm (6pm) in Washington, DC Time,” Trump wrote on social media on Friday. “Every nation has signed! If we reach this last, coincidence agreement, all hell breaks out against Hamas, as no one has ever seen before. There is some form of peace in the Middle East.”
The Republican president announced the plan earlier this week with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Trump’s proposal would place Gaza under the control of a temporary management committee led by Trump himself. Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair will also be involved.
Civilians don’t need to evacuate territory what Trump has previously floated. Hamas must disarm and release the remaining hostages. Surviving fighters are allowed to leave.
Hamas said Tuesday it would study the proposal. Trump told reporters that Hamas has “three or four days” to respond.
Trump had a hard time ending the conflict. Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023. His latest post on social media is another attempt to raise pressure on Hamas.
“Most of the rest is surrounded and military-confined, just waiting for me to give the word ‘go’ so that their lives will soon disappear,” Trump said. “For the rest, we know where you are and who you are. You’ll be cornered and killed.”
