Aston Villa boss Unai Emery is battling dressing room issues with many players with “not in the right place.”
Emery’s team started off in a nightmare for the new Premier League season, with the villains drawing three and losing two of their first five games.
This put them in the demoting zone, as this early point of the campaign showed just three points from previous efforts.
Aston Villa was joined by Jadon Sancho and Harvey Elliott on loan, and Aston Villa didn’t inspire confidence in the summer business.
But they managed to hold onto Emiliano Martinez, John McGinn and Ollie Watkins, but former Aston Villa Scout Mick Brown believes there will be at least three unfortunate players.
Brown told Football Insider:

“There are too many issues in the background at Aston Villa. They didn’t start the season in the best form with all sorts of speculation about players.
“I’m talking about goalkeeper (Martinez), captain (McGinn), striker (Watkins) and loan players leaving in misfortune, so there was never a good uncertainty for anyone.
“It’s a vicious cycle because if a player’s mind isn’t in the right place, it’s very difficult to start picking up results.
“All of a sudden you played 7, 8, 9 games without winning, so your fingers will only point in one direction. That’s in Emery.”

After a 1-1 draw with 10 Sunderlands over the weekend, Emery insisted that her side wanted their side to restore their identity.
Emery said: “First of all, I would like to thank the supporters who came here to support us and support us as they do the whole season.
“We are disappointed and annoyed. Not for the outcome. We should not win this match, but the most important thing is the way. And we need to try and recover and do our job again with our own identity, playing with the style we want to build and the style we have had successful, positive experiences.
“That’s all my frustration. There’s still work to do. Some players have adapted to our team and our ideas, and they’re here last year and know how we want to build a team and how we’ve been successful over the past three years.
“This is how I want to recover.”
