Vogue nominated Chloe Malle as head of new editorial content and took over from Anna Wintour, who resigned nearly 40 years later.
The 134-year-old magazine announced its appointment on Tuesday.
Wintour, 75, remains global editorial director for Conde Nast and American Vogue and global editor-in-chief of 27 editions worldwide. She also owns renowned brands such as Vanity Fair and GQ, and will continue to serve as Chief Content Director at Conde Nast, the parent company of iconic brands that focus on major events such as Met Gala.
Malle, the editor of Vogue.com, may have stepped into Wintour’s low-heeled slingback, but while taking over her daily business in the US edition, she reports to the original wearer. And the famous “Editor-in-Chief” title Wintour held for almost 40 years is gone.
Malle, 39, spent more than a decade on Vogue with The Run-Sthrough, an editor at Vogue.com and co-host of Vogue Podcasts.
The daughter of actress Candice Bergen and film director Lewis Mal joined Vogue in 2011 as a social editor and moved to editor in 2016, and has been in his current position since 2023. Bezos.

Since 1988, Wintour has shaped the voice of Us Vogue, transforming the Met Gala from an elite New York fundraiser to an internationally viewed cultural sight.
Almost synonymous with the Vogue brand, Wintour is also widely considered the inspiration for “Miranda Priestly,” a fashion editor portrayed by actress Meryl Streetp in the film The Devil Wears Prada.
Vogue was founded 134 years ago as Society Journal. After Conde Nast acquired it in 1909, it became a flagship in the traditional industry focusing on models of covers, static close-up photos taken in studios, and high fashion and heavy makeup.
Risk Taker Wintour, which took over the title in 1988, saw a massive appeal with a broader approach. She expanded the international edition, increased her connection to fashion pop culture, and began to include celebrities, athletes, music stars and politicians on her cover. Wintour wanted a minimum approach to fashion and preferred storytelling during outdoor photo shoots.
