ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) – A woman sues Universal Orlando Resort, claiming she was injured on a roller coaster at her latest theme park. The lawsuit filed on Wednesday will be one week. After the man died From a dull impact injury after going on the same ride.
Sandi Streets filed a negligence lawsuit in Orlando state court days after 32-year-old Kevin Rodriguez Zavala died in another case.
Streets said he was invited to Universal’s epic space theme park a few weeks before it was officially opened to the public in May and competed in the dual-Lan Coaster, reaching speeds of up to 62 mph (100 kph). While riding, her head shaking violently, struck a headrest in her seat, causing permanent injury, according to the lawsuit.
The lawsuit says the streets have overcome obstacles, medical costs, loss of work capacity and worsening existing conditions. Her attorney, Nicholas Spetsus, did not immediately respond to an email Thursday asking for details of her injuries.
The ride failed to properly hold her head down, and the theme park failed to properly warn her about the “dangerous and unjustly dangerous situation” of the roller coaster, the lawsuit says.
Universal did not respond to an email seeking comment on the lawsuit Thursday.
In Zavala’s case, an Orlando area medical inspector ruled the cause of death as multiple blunt impact injuries, and said the way of death was an accident.
In a note to workers last weekend, Karen Irwin, president of Universal Orlando Resort, said that the internal findings were normally functioning after Zavala’s death, saying that the equipment was unscathed and that the universal worker followed the proper procedures. An investigator with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services said last Friday. Their initial findings agree At that at the theme park.
The lawyers for Zavala’s family were troubled by the conclusion at a press conference Wednesday. Zabara had a spinal disorder at birth and used a wheelchair, but said his disability did not cause his death. His family has not yet filed a lawsuit and said they want to understand how he died.
