EXCLUSIVE: WWE star Zelina Vega has signed with Prototype Talent Agency for representation.
Born Thea Trinidad, Vega is from New York City and is of Puerto Rican descent. She has been a professional wrestler for over 15 years, and currently competes for WWE under the SmackDown brand. Vega was the 2nd ever WWE Women’s United States Champion, having defeated the inaugural champion Chelsea Green in April. She was also the first-ever WWE Queen of the Ring, winning the crown in 2021 at the WWE Crown Jewel event. Vega is also a former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion as well as a TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion.
Outside of the ring, her first major acting role was in MGM’s Fighting With My Family, opposite Florence Pugh and produced by Dwayne Johnson and his Seven Bucks Entertainment. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was written and directed by Stephen Merchant.
On the voiceover side, Vega was one of the commentators in Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 video game released in 2023. Earlier in her career, she also had roles in Hope Bridge, opposite Booboo Stewart and Fivel Stewart, as well as Army of the Damned alongside Tony Todd. A huge fan of anime, voiceover will be one of the focuses in Vega’s endeavors outside of the ring, as well as on-camera roles in TV and film.
Vega will next compete this Friday night on WWE SmackDown on the USA Network in a rematch against current WWE Women’s United States Champion Giulia for the title. The event will kick off WWE SummerSlam at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
The actress and wrestler joins a roster that also includes Cody Rhodes, Bubba Ray Dudley, and Billy Gunn. She continues to be represented by Torres Benet.
