Focus Features has released the first full-length official trailer for Bugonia, the offbeat sci-fi black comedy from director Yorgos Lanthimos and starring Emma Stone.
Bugonia marks a reunion for the director and actor after the four-time Oscar-winning Poor Things. In their latest collaboration – an English-language remake of South Korean filmmaker Jang Joon-hwan’s Save the Green Planet! – Stone plays a high-powered CEO of a major company kidnapped by two conspiracists (Jesse Plemons, Aidan Delbis) who are convinced the CEO is an alien intent on destroying planet Earth.
Written by Will Tracy and also starring Stavros Halkias and Alicia Silverstone, Bugonia is produced by Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe, Lanthimos, Stone, Ari Aster, Lars Knudsen, Miky Lee and Jerry Kyoungboum Ko.
The film is currently in competition at the Venice Film Festival, and is set for a special limited release October 24 ahead of a wide expansion October 31.
