Popular Korean reality show Physical: 100 will get both U.S. and European spinoffs.
A casting call was put out by Netflix today seeking 100 American competitors, with the streamer also confirming that a European version is currently in development.
The original Korean series featured two seasons and starred a cast of top athletes, celebrities and elite military professionals facing off in grueling physical and mental quests.
The cast from the 2023 season of Physical: 100 included Olympic gold medalists Yun Sung-bin and Yang Hak-seon, Korea Army Special Forces member Hong Beom-seok and boxer Shin Bomirae, among others, with the series soaring to the Netflix Top 10 list in over 80 countries.
Netflix will produce the Physical 100: USA series alongside A. Smith & Co. Productions, the production house behind popular reality shows like American Ninja Warrior, Hell’s Kitchen and I Survived a Japanese Game Show.
Arthur Smith, David Friedman, Anthony Storm and Eli Baldrige will serve as executive producers for the U.S. edition.
In February, Netflix also unveiled the continent-wide spinoff, titled Physical: Asia, which is set to premiere later this year. Featuring top-tier athletes across the region, they must form teams around their countries of origin to compete for national glory.
