EXCLUSIVE: Adam Pally and Jon Gabrus, who hosted TruTV travelogue series 101 Places To Party Before You Die are moving into the wellness space.
The duo have teamed with Smartless Media, the company founded by Smartless hosts Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett, for a new podcast – Staying Alive.
The two 40-something best friends, actors and comedians have realized that after spending the better part of their lives treating their bodies terribly, they should probably make some changes, per the logline.
The pair will enlist health experts and comedy friends as they explore real ways to live longer and undo the damage they have done. Guests will include cardiologist Dr. Amar Shere, immunologist Dr. Shruti Naik, and neuroscientist Dr. Heather Berlin as well as Jerry O’Connell, Ego Nwodim, Paul Scheer, Jillian Bell, Rosebud Baker and Nicole Byer.
They will tackle a range of health and wellness topics and trials including weight management, sleep optimization, ketamine therapy, cold plunging, gut health, mental health, sexual health, and immunology.
The series will launch on April 24. Video episodes will also appear on YouTube.
“We are so excited to join the ranks of unqualified men hosting podcasts about subjects they know nothing about. As depressing as it sounds, doing a wellness podcast just might be the healthiest thing we have ever done,” said Pally and Gabrus.
Staying Alive is produced by SmartLess Media. Jon Gabrus and Adam Pally serve as executive producers, alongside Arnett, Bateman, Hayes, Richard Korson and Bernie Kaminski, producers Devon Torrey Bryant and Anne Harris and associate producer Maddie McCann.
