EXCLUSIVE: Isabel DeRoy-Olson (Fancy Dance) and Luke Barnett (The Crossing Over Express) have joined the cast of AMC and AMC+ hit thriller Dark Winds for Season 4.
Production on Season 4, which will consist of eight hourlong episodes, will kick off this month in Santa Fe, NM, with a premiere set for 2026.
In a series regular role, DeRoy-Olson will portray Billie Tsosie, a decisive and resourceful Navajo teenager who wants nothing more than the freedom to connect with her people outside of her boarding school. When her cousin takes her out of school, she finds herself quickly in over her head with only her cunning and resilience keeping her alive.
Barnett will recur as FBI Special Agent Toby Shaw, who arrives searching for answers to a mystery involving one of his friends. Loyal to the bureau, Shaw finds himself in deep with Leaphorn, Chee, and Bernadette Manuelito (Jessica Matten).
Set in 1971 on a remote outpost of the Navajo Nation near Monument Valley, Dark Winds follows Lt. Joe Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon) of the Tribal Police as a series of seemingly unrelated crimes besiege him. The closer he digs into the truth, the more he exposes the wounds of his past. He is joined on this journey by his new deputy, Jim Chee (Kiowa Gordon). Chee also has old scores to settle from his youth on the reservation. Together, the two men battle the forces of evil, each other, and their own demons on the path to salvation.
Season 3 picks up six months after the events of Season 2 and follows Leaphorn and Chee as they investigate the disappearance of two boys, with only an abandoned bicycle and a blood-stained patch of ground left in their wake. Meanwhile, Bernadette Manuelito (Jessica Matten) attempts to settle into her new life 500 miles from home with the Border Patrol but stumbles across a conspiracy involving human and drug smuggling with far-reaching implications.
The series was renewed for a fourth season ahead of its Season 3 premiere. New episodes currently air on Sunday nights at 9 p.m.
