EXCLUSIVE: Jermaine Fowler has been tapped for a recurring role on the upcoming fifth season of Hulu’s hit comedy series Only Murders in the Building.
He is the latest big-name recurring cast addition for Season 5, joining previously announced Renée Zellweger, Christoph Waltz, Téa Leoni, Keegan-Michael Key and Logan Lerman. As usual, details about the new characters are being kept under wraps.
Returning series regulars are stars/executive producers Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short as well as Michael Cyril Creighton. Production on the new season, which will be solving Lester’s murder, is underway in New York.
Season 4 also featured a starry cast, including the return of Meryl Streep, joined by Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis, Eva Longoria, Jane Lynch, Richard Kind, Melissa McCarthy, Kumail Nanjiani and Molly Shannon.
Only Murders, from 20th TV, this year scored its first SAG Award for Comedy Series Ensemble, shared by Martin, Short, Gomez, Creighton, Levy, Galifianakis, Longoria, Kind, Nanjiani and Molly Shannon. Short also won for Male Actor in a Comedy Series.
Former Superior Donuts star Fowler was recently seen in Prime Video’s Ricky Stanicky and FX’s A Murder at the End of the World. He next stars opposite Tracy Morgan in the new Paramount+ comedy series Crutch and in the upcoming indie horror-thriller Night Patrol. He is repped by UTA, Entertainment 360 and Yorn Levine.
