Jasper Cole & Lille Jean Trueman Board ‘Write To Kill‘
EXCLUSIVE: Veteran actor Jasper Cole and director Lillee Jean Trueman have boarded author and producer David P. Perlmutter’s planned TV series Write to Kill. Trueman will executive produce the series, which follows an aspiring author, cursed with writer’s block and ridden with debt, who is offered a huge amount of money to commit a heinous crime. Charlotte Kirk is signed on to star and snooker star Jimmy White will make a cameo. Already attached to the cast are Billy Hayes (Midnight Express), Elena Sanchez (Hunger Games), Sean Cronin (Mission Impossible), Rich Graff (Making Of The Mob), Amber Doig-Thorne (Winnie The Pooh – Blood and Honey), Brooke Lewis Bellas (Sinatra Club), Vanessa Eichholz (Hellboy), David Kallaway (Blacklist), and Jack Hudson (Accomplice). Perlmutter and Michael Gorman of Kat Harvey Films have written the pilot and shooting is planned for New York and London.
Bronte Pictures Hires New Managers As It Rebrands
Australian feature film production house Bronte Pictures has hired former Miramax exec Michelle Krumm and industry veteran Richard Harris, as it transitions to a new identity as Bronte Studios. Krumm will be a producer, while Harris will be Co-Managing Director alongside Bronte founder Blake Northfield. Sandra Tahmasby Baxter will remain as Head of Production and Drew Smith will continue as Head of Development, and both are being elevated to partners within the company. Bronte Studios is known for films such as Wyrmwood: Apocalypse, The Fabulous 4 and the soon-to-be-released Beast of War. Harris was most recently at Screen Australia and worked as CEO of the South Australian Film Corporation. As an indie producer, he was an executive producer at Closer Productions.
Sam Barcroft‘s Creatorville Sold To SWNS Media
Barcroft Media founder Sam Barcroft has sold his storytelling business Creatorville to SWNS Media Group. As part of the deal, Barcroft will become CEO of London-based news and factual content firm SWNS and become a shareholder. Current SWNS CEO Paul Walters will become Non-Executive Chair and co-founder Andrew Young will become a non-executive director. Martin Winter remains as SWNS Managing Director and Chris Pharo will remain as CEO of 72Point. Barcroft is best known for creating UK producer Barcroft Media, which was sold to British magazine and production house Future and later become Future Studios. He launched Creatorville four years ago.
