Amazon MGM Studios has assembled the main cast of its new YA series Off Campus, based on the best-selling book series by Elle Kennedy.
Ella Bright (The Crown), Belmont Cameli (Until Dawn), Mika Abdalla (The Pitt), Antonio Cipriano (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin), Jalen Thomas Brooks (The Pitt), Stephen Kalyn (Gen V) and Josh Heuston have been tapped as series regulars in the Prime Video romantic drama, created by Louisa Levy who serves as co-showrunner alongside Gina Fattore.
There are 5 books in Kennedy’s Off-Campus series, which depicts the elite ice hockey team, and the women in their lives, as they grapple with love, heartbreak, and self-discovery — forging deep friendships and enduring bonds while navigating the complexities that come with transitioning into adulthood.
In the vein of Bridgerton, each of the first four novels tells the love story of a hockey player, with the fifth being a novella collection of all four couples. As one of the players (and their significant other) take center stage, the other characters remain part of the narrative.
The Off Campus cast includes the romantic leads of Season 1, based on the first book, The Deal, Bright as Hannah and Cameli as Garrett. The other series regulars playing hockey players who would each take turns as a lead in subsequent seasons include Cipriano (Logan from Book #2, The Mistake), Brooks (Tucker from Book #4, The Goal) and Kalyn (Dean from Book #3, The Score), with Abdalla as Dean’s future leading lady, Allie.
Heuston plays the Season 1 love rival role of Justin, Hannah’s (Bright) longtime crush, a college rock band singer.
In Season 1, Off Campus follows the unlikely romance between Hannah (Bright), a wry, hockey-hating music major and Briar University’s playboy star center, Garrett (Cameli).
Levy and Fattore executive produce alongside Temple Hill’s Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen and James Seidman, Leanna Billings via her banner Billings Productions, Neal Flaherty and Silver Tree. Temple Hill’s Annika Patton and Kennedy serve as producers. Deanna Brigidi and Andrea Bunker are the casting directors.
Bright was nominated for a BAFTA for her role in Malory Towers. Cameli recently starred in the horror video game adaptation of Until Dawn and Peacock’s Saved by the Bell. Abdalla starred in the 2024 comedy film Snack Shack and recurred on Max’s The Pitt. Cipriano recurred on Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin and starred in National Treasure: Edge of History. Brooks had a major recurring role on The Pitt and was seen in Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving. Heuston has had major roles in Max’s Dune: Prophecy and Netflix’s Heartbreak High. Kalyn can be seen in the upcoming second season of the Prime Video’s Gen V and Motorheads.
