Reports say Man City is “pushing” this summer to sign Rodrigo from Real Madrid this summer.
Citizens are free to attack offensive options as Rayan Cherki comes into the team during the summer transfer period.
However, Man City is still looking to add another winger to their team after allowing Jack Glaeshe to move to Premier League rival Everton in the summer.
One of the main targets for that position is Real Madrid winger Rodrigo. There are rumours that he will be allowed to leave the Bernabeu this summer.
After being excluded from the start XI of the season’s opening LaLiga match against Osasuna, Rodrigo was surprisingly given a starting point against Real Oviedo over the weekend.
And Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso praised the Brazilian star in his post-match comments. “He had a good game. In the first half he often linked to (Alvaro) Carrera, (Kylian) Mbappe, (Arda) Guler, who was sometimes dropped.

“He had one-on-one situations and some shots. Oviedo was very deep and it was hard to find space, but I liked it. Last week we needed everyone. Rodrigo is one of them.”
Rodrigo was recently removed from the next Brazilian team, with new boss Carlo Ancelotti saying Real Madrid wingers can always ask for explanations.
Ancelotti said: “You can call me if you need an explanation.
“I think Rodrigo has my number. I don’t know if Neymar will, but I think so.” Yesterday he played very well for Real Madrid.

“It was his first game for a long time, so he still has time to recover and return to the national team.” Players playing for the national team must be physically 100%. That’s important. ”
There are many signs that Rodrigo could move this summer to find the usual match time and regain his place with the Brazilian team, in time for the 2026 World Cup.
And now, former Man Utd and Tottenham Scout Mick Brown (still well connected in the Premier League) claim that Man City is now “pushing” Rodrigo.
Brown told Football Insider: “Rodrigo is propelling a single city. They already have so many players in a wide area, but they’re losing the grail, so perhaps they feel there’s space he’s left with the team.
“We also talked about Sabigno about going to Tottenham, but I don’t think he has to leave before he takes anyone else.
“From a city standpoint, they were willing to have both of them and were able to give them that strength intensiveness.
“I think Pep Guardiola has to decide what the wideman in his first choice is because for now he’s been chopped up and changed and it may be inconsistent.
“But I think Rodrigo is available and I think it’s because he’s not an important part of that Real Madrid team. He’s probably interested in them.
“I think it’s a move where players get open as well. Guardiola wants to bolster it. They’ve already shown that and this could be the next move.”
