The Amateur, starring Rami Malek and Laurence Fishburne, will begin streaming on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ on July 17.
The 20th Century Studios spy thriller, which was released in theaters in April, stars Malek as Charlie Heller, “a brilliant, but deeply introverted decoder for the CIA whose life is turned upside down when his wife is killed in a London terrorist attack. When his supervisors refuse to take action, he takes matters into his own hands, embarking on a dangerous trek across the globe to track down those responsible, his intelligence serving as the ultimate weapon for eluding his pursuers and achieving his revenge.”
In addition to Malek and Fishburne, the film stars Rachel Brosnahan as Heller’s wife along with Caitríona Balfe, Jon Bernthal, Michael Stuhlbarg, Holt McCallany, Julianne Nicholson, Adrian Martinez, Danny Sapani.
James Hawes directs from a screenplay by Ken Nolan and Gary Spinelli, based on Robert Littell’s novel. Producers include Hutch Parker, p.g.a., Dan Wilson, p.g.a., Malek and Joel B. Michaels, with JJ Hook serving as executive producer.
