Disney said on Tuesday that Snow White, its live-action update of the animated classic that stars Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot will debut on digital platforms beginning May 13. It also said that 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD packages will hit beginning June 24.
No date has been set for its landing on Disney+.
On May 13, the pic will hit Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango at Home. The digital and physical versions will include bonus content like bloopers, deleted scenes, featurettes, and a full-length sing-along version.
The movie, which arrived in theaters in the U.S. on March 21, saw a $42.2 million opening weekend on its way to a global box office take of $200.5 million, a disappointing result for the latest Disney live-action redo of its animated library titles. This one, directed by Marc Webb, cost a reported $270 million and endured reshoots, labor strikes, a fire on the set, release-date changes and candid comments by Zegler in the lead-up to the release that caused a stir.
In March, Deadline’s sources reported that pic was on track to lose an estimated $115 million after all global home entertainment, TV and Disney+ ancillaries. That loss, which was expected, was based on a final worldwide box office of $225M.
