EXCLUSIVE: Tanner Stine (Run the Race, Indivisible) and Anna Grace Barlow (Jesus Revolution) have joined the cast of faith-based feature biopic The Bull about the life of late NFL star John “Bull” Bramlett.
The feature is being spearheaded by director Trey Reynolds, who previously explored Bramlett’s life in the documentary Taming the Bull: The John Bramlett Story and a short fiction also co-starring Stine and Barlow.
He is also acting as a producer under his company TR Films, with Darren Moorman at Reserve Entertainment.
Bramlett rose from poverty to a successful seven-year NFL career from 1965 to 1971, earning Pro Bowl honors and nearly winning AFL Rookie of the Year behind Joe Namath.
Known for his aggressive and fiercely competitive playing style, he also had a reputation as a troublesome figure off the field, whose violent temper and substance abuse led to bar fights, arrests, and family struggles.
A moment of divine intervention turned the once-notorious linebacker into a devoted evangelist, and Bramlett and his wife, Nancy, would spend the next 40 years traveling the world, sharing a message of faith and hope with those in need.
“The Bull is a film about resilience and the transformative power of faith. Tanner and Anna Grace bring a depth and authenticity to their roles that will make this story truly unforgettable,” said Reynolds.
Reserve Entertainment’s credits include Same Kind Of Different As Me and Netflix Original Blue Miracle, starring Dennis Quaid. It has also collaborated with Angel Studios on films like Sweetwater, Sight, and recently released titles The Hill, Monster Summer, and Green and Gold.
With talent officially attached, the production team is actively engaging investors, production companies, and studios to secure the final financing.
“We are crafting The Bull not just as a movie, but as an experience, one that will challenge, inspire and move audiences,” said Moorman. “With Tanner and Anna Grace on board, we’re confident this story will touch lives and spark conversations.”
Stine is represented by Buchwald and Untitled Entertainment, while Barlow is represented by Gersh and Authentic Management.
