Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar is a tribute to his current team after a Test series in the UK.
Euphoric India praised Shubman Gill and his men on Monday to separate the oval-rimmed thriller and split the Classic Test series with England.
The odds stacked against India in their first Test series under Gill. He inherited a team that was exhausted by the retirement of batting stubborns Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
As if the gaps in the batting order were not bad enough, veteran seafarer Mohamed Shami was deemed unsuitable for tours, but Pace Spearhead’s Jasplit Bumra was available for only three of the five tests as part of workload management.
Gill and his men recorded memorable victory with the Edge Baston and an oval, securing a 2-2 series draw and assuring their legions of fans that the future of Indian cricket is a safe hand.
The insatiable Mohammed Siraj guided their heart-heart bowling efforts in the series finale, writing a six-run victory in the high drama.
Batting great Sachin Tendulkar paid tribute to the team and said the quality of cricket on offer was “absolute goosebumps.”
“Series 2–2, performance 10/10! Indian Superman! What a victory,” the former Indian captain wrote to X.

England needed 35 runs on Monday, and got four wickets to secure a 3-1 series victory, while Syraj hit three times to secure the team’s famous victory.
“In England’s oldest Test Matchground, claw biting, riveted cricket time and characteristically cloudy, furious weather, India has pulled away the historic robbery,” the Hindustan Times wrote.
The Indian Express headline reads “A miracle will happen,” and the newspaper explained how Gill stepped up as captain of the “gun team.”
The Hindus stole eloquence in “The Mission was achieved.”
“After 25 days of revetting action, the best was saved for the last as Shubmangir’s men ride on the sensational spell of Mohammed Shiraj to bring out an astonishing victory,” it said.
“This was a litmus test for the Indian team in transition, but the younger side showed their heart and character as they fought back from tough situations to share their honors.”
