Former Bayern Munich and Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinzeiger eased his fears about Florian Wiltz, saying he himself “has to make a little adjustment,” while the midfielder said he would “please all of us” at Liverpool.
Wirtz was the second most expensive player to sign in by Reds in the summer. He reissued them £16 million.
Wirtz is yet to get close to withstanding that fee as he hasn’t scored or supported in nine games since the Community Shield.
Arne Slot gave him plenty of time before dropping German from his side for a Premier League match against Chelsea, where Liverpool lost 2-1.
The adjustment struggle may seem serious to some, but Schweinsteger, who traded Bayern to Mann United in 2015 after a long spell in Germany, suggested it was normal.
He told RTL: “We have to give players a bit of time, especially when moving from the Bundesliga to the Premier League, we need to make some adjustments.
“I went through it myself. He will please all of us in the future. Florian Wurtz is a great footballer and a great character. We are happy to have such a player in Germany.”
Schweinsteiger is probably not the best example to ease the fears about adjusting from the Bundesliga to the Premier League.

In any case, the former Bayern Munich man is not the only German legend that Whartz feels better.
Philip Lahm also suggests that he has not struggled for a long time.
He said: “Florian Wiltz isn’t worried at all because he’s such a standout and great player that makes his teammates better. Quality and class always win, and that’s absolutely true for Florian Wiltz.”
Certainly, Wirtz scored 16 goals last season and provided 15 assists to Bayer Leverkusen.
In Leverkusen, as the left No. 10, he was already high on the field and attacking himself in space or putting the ball on his teammates in good positions.
As the sole attacking midfielder in Liverpool, he is sometimes tasked with gathering the ball from deep and blocking offensive skills. If he spends more time in the system, he can surely have an impact.
