NBC has set Thursday, May 22 for the Season 4 premiere of Canadian medical drama series Transplant. It will air as a two-hour event from 8-10 pm and stream next day on Peacock.
Season 4 picks up with Bashir “Bash” Hamed (Hamza Haq) on the precipice of finishing his residency at York Memorial and officially requalifying as a doctor. With his future uncertain once again, Bash and his sister, Amira (Sirena Gulamgaus), are Canadian citizens now, but are still trying, with everything they have, to build a life in their adopted country.
Transplant centers on Dr. Bashir “Bash” Hamed (Haq), a Syrian doctor with battle-tested skills in emergency medicine who fled his country with his younger sister, Amira (Gulamgaus). Together they struggle to build a new life in Canada as Bash strives to rebuild his career in medicine.
In addition to Haq and Gulamgaus, the series stars Laurence Leboeuf, Ayisha Issa, Jim Watson, Rekha Sharma, Torri Higginson, Kenny Wong, Sugith Varughese and Gord Rand.
NBC picked up seasons 3 and 4 of the series in 2023. It has consistently ranked as a Top 20 series on CTV and has remained the most-watched Canadian drama series each broadcast year. The series has amassed 32 Canadian Screen Award nominations and 18 wins, including two wins for Best Dramatic Series. Haq has won three years in a row for Best Lead Performer in a Drama Series.
Joseph Kay is the showrunner and executive producer. Bruno Dubé, Jocelyn Deschênes, Josée Vallée, Rachel Langer, Stefan Pleszczynski, and Sarah Timmins also executive produce. Transplant” is produced by Sphere Media in association with CTV and Universal International Studios, a division of Universal Studio Group.
The first three seasons are currently available on Peacock.
