We’ve confirmed that Supergirl screenwriter Ana Nogueira is writing DC Studios’ new redo of Wonder Woman.
The writer is also reportedly set to write a live-action take of Teen Titans for the James Gunn and Peter Safran run Warner Bros label.
DC Studios doesn’t comment on development news.
The news comes in the wake of Gunn’s Superman coursing to $409M-plus at the global box office through two weekends. That movie is a bright spot for comic book movies which haven’t had the hot streak at the box office ala pre-Covid days.
When Gunn and Safran took the reigns of the studio, they passed on making Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 3. The director, who broke the glass ceiling for a female filmmaker at the box office with Wonder Woman‘s massive $103.2M domestic opening, and ultimate $412.8M stateside and near $824M global take voiced her upset to the media.
DC Studios also remains in development on the HBO series Paradise Lost, which is set in Wonder Woman’s home of Themyscira.
Nogueira cut her teeth in acting with parts on The Michael J. Fox Show, The Vampire Diaries and Hightown.
Supergirl, which is helmed by Craig Gillespie and stars House of the Dragon‘s Milly Alcock reps her first produced screenplay based on Tom King’s graphic novel, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. The pic comes out on June 26, 2026.
DC Studios will be making a big splash at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday with the second season of HBO’s Peacemaker. Marvel Studios is sitting on the sidelines since they’re in deep production on Avengers: Doomsday.
