Brad Arnold has been diagnosed with kidney cancer, resulting in 3 Doors Down to cancel their summer 2025 tour.
The rock band’s lead vocalist said he has “no fear” as he revealed his diagnosis with stage 4 clear cell renal cell carcinoma in a video on Wednesday, thanking fans for their support and asking for prayers.
“I’ve got some not-so-good news for you today,” he started in the video. “I’ve been sick a couple weeks ago, and I went to the hospital and got checked out, and had actually got the diagnosis that I had clear cell renal cell carcinoma, and it had metastasized into my lung. And it’s stage 4, and that’s not real good.”
Arnold continued, “But we serve a mighty god, and he can overcome anything. So, I have no fear. I really and sincerely am not scared of it at all. But it is gonna force us to cancel our tour this summer, and we’re sorry for that. I’d love for you to lift me up in prayer every chance you get, and I think it’s time to go listen to ‘It’s Not My Time’ a little, right? Thank you guys so much. God loves ya, we love ya. See ya.”
Arnold’s announcement comes a week before 3 Doors Down was set to kick off their tour on May 15 in Daytona Beach, Florida.
