EXCLUSIVE: Such Brave Girls Season 2 is coming and we’ve got these new images for you ahead of the BAFTA-winning BBC and Hulu comedy‘s return.
The A24-backed series, written by and starring Kat Sadler, follows a dysfunctional mother and her two daughters, and is a loosely autobiographical story about a family clawing at a better life. It was reordered last year following Season 1’s launch back in 2023.
Sadler plays Josie, who along with her sister (Lizzie Davidson) and mother Deb (Louise Brealey) desperately tries to escape the reality of their cramp, crumbling, debt-ridden home. Season 2 will see Dev (Paul Bazely) and Seb (Freddie Meredith) attempting to come to their rescue. The official launch dates in the UK and U.S. will be announced in due course.
Season 1 last year won the BAFTA TV award for Best Scripted Comedy. It was succeeded last night by another female-led BBC comedy, Alma’s Not Normal.

The six-part series is a Various Artists Limited (VAL) production for BBC Three and BBC iPlayer, and Hulu. Sadler, Jack Bayles and Phil Clarke for Various Artists Ltd are the exec producers for the BBC Studios-backed VAL in association with A24. Simon Bird is the director and Catherine Gosling Fuller the producer. The commissioning editor for the BBC is Gregor Sharp. A24 is the international distributor and previously sold Season 1 to the likes of Stan in Australia.
Yesterday, Hulu released a first-look teaser clip at Season 2, which you can watch here.
