RTS Cambridge Confirms Big Name Speakers
Mark Burnett, John Landgraf and Jeff Zucker are among the major names set for the RTS Cambridge Convention 2025. Burnett – creator of The Apprentice, confidante of President Donald Trump and now U.S. Special Envoy to the UK – will speak along with FX Chairman Landgraf and Zucker, who is CEO of RedBird IMI, the owner of British super-indie group All3Media. Also on the bill for the event are former UK politician and ex-President of Global Affairs at Meta Nick Clegg and Roku founder and CEO Anthony Wood. From the UK are interim Channel 4 CEO Jonathan Allan, ex-government ministers and Political Currency podcast hosts Ed Balls and George Osborne, ITV Chief Exec Carolyn McCall, Channel 5 President Sarah Rose and Sky Group CEO Dana Strong. BBC Director General Tim Davie is chairing the event, which will be entitled ‘Where Do We Go From Here?’ and seeking to identify opportunities and pathways to growth in the TV in the face of market challenges. “We are at a critical moment for the UK creative economy, with shifts in audience behaviour, changes to business models, and big questions about funding and the impact of technology,” said Davie. “Our theme – Where Do We Grow From Here? – looks to the future and how we can drive sustainable growth for our world-class sector.” RTS Cambridge will be held at King’s College, Cambridge on September 17-18.
David W. Zucker & Rola Bauer Set For Monte Carlo TV Festival
David W. Zucker, Chief Creative Officer, Scott Free, and Rola Bauer, Co-Founder of Tandem and now Exec Producer for Amazon MGM Studios, will share their thoughts on the biz at the Monte Carlo TV Festival. Deadline is the partner and will moderate the session, which is part of Monte Carlo’s business strand. Zucker is EP of the Ridley Scott pilot-directed crime drama Dope Thief for Apple and the summer release Alien Earth for FX. He is collaborating with Bauer on Amazon MGM Studios limited series Pompeii: A Day of Fire. “As the Monte-Carlo Television Festival has been a loyal and perfect partner in premiering many of my productions, the opportunity to riff on the journey to date with my dear friend, David, should provide a fun, entertaining and hopefully enlightening exchange for the Business Content participants,” Bauer said. ‘Drive To Survive’ Prodco Box To Box Enters Lat Am
Drive to Survive producer Box To Box and sports and entertainment investment outfit Fillip have launched a Latin American joint venture. Box to Box LatAm will be based in Mexico City and Andrea Pérez García-Escudero will run the new operation. She was previously General Manager of Fox Sports Mexico and prior to that held various positions at Netflix. Box To Box LatAm will work up a slate of original fare spanning feature docs, docuseries, and scripted projects that focused on stories emerging from Latin America that have global appeal. “Storytelling knows no borders, and this partnership is about bringing the untold stories of Latin America to a global audience,” said Paul Martin, Co-Founder of Box to Box. “By joining forces with Fillip, we are committed to expanding our reach and telling stories that transcend language and geography, offering unparalleled access to the people, events, and ideas shaping our world.”
