Maxton Hall – The World Between Us‘s hotly-anticipated second season will launch on November 7, a new teaser trailer has confirmed.
The Prime Video drama series, which is set in a British private but produced out of Germany, follows star-crossed student lovers Ruby (Harriet Herbig-Matten) and James (Damian Hardung).
The teaser reveals there will be plenty more drama in their on-again, off-again relationship, as an angry Ruby watches on at James partying with other girls under blue strobe lighting. Back at their posh private school, James is seen being led away by a friend, as he looks back longingly at Ruby, who’s wearing a pained expression.
A new synopsis accompanying the trailer reads: “Those who fly high can also fall low… After their passionate night together in Oxford and her greatest life goal within reach, everything seems to be going perfectly for Ruby. But a stroke of fate in James’ family changes everything and James himself, of all people, brings her back from cloud nine to a harsh reality. Ruby is devastated. She has never had such strong feelings for anyone as she does for James – and never before has anyone hurt her so deeply. She wants her old life back, where no one at Maxton Hall knew her yet and she wasn’t part of the elitist world of her classmates. But she can’t forget James – especially since he’s doing everything, he can to win her back.”
Sonja Weißer, Ben Felipe, Fedja van Huêt, Runa Greiner, Justus Riesner, Andrea Guo, Frederic Balonier and Eli Riccardi also return to the cast.
The upcoming second season has been a long-time coming, with the breakout first season launching back in May 2024. Deadline exclusively revealed that Season 2 was set to drop before the end of 2025, and rumors are now swirling around an announcment on Season 3.
